GNY EP.164 | Maker Faire Syracuse
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Good News York! In this episode, host Noah Chrysler sits down with Pauline Lynch Shostak and Jon Herr β two of the key organizers behind Maker Faire Syracuse β to talk all about what makes this annual event one of Central New York’s most exciting and inspiring community gatherings.
Now in its fifth year, Maker Faire Syracuse has grown from 80 makers and 1,200 attendees at its first event to an incredible 144 makers registered for this year’s fair β with around 2,000 attendees expected to walk through the doors. Pauline and Jon break down what a "maker" really is, and why the movement has become more accessible than ever thanks to advances in 3D printing, laser engravers, and a wave of online tutorials making creative technology available to beginners of all ages.
Whether you’re a seasoned maker, a curious parent, or just looking for something incredible to do in Syracuse this spring β this episode will get you pumped to attend. As Jon puts it: "There’s a million little puddles, and we’re just hoping people get their feet wet in all of them."
