Syracuse’s unofficial kickoff to summer is just around the corner, and Matt Masur sits down with Carrie Wojtaszek — an 18-year veteran of the Taste of Syracuse — to break down everything you need to know before heading downtown. From $2 food samples and cold drinks to three stages of live music and a brand-new Art in the Park experience, this episode covers it all. Taste of Syracuse takes place the first Friday and Saturday of June in downtown Syracuse. It’s 100% FREE to attend — no tickets required. Doors open at 11:00 AM and the party runs until 10:00 PM both days. With hundreds of thousands of visitors over the years, over 30 live bands across three stages (including national act Fuel for the 90’s rock fans!), $2 food samples from local restaurants and food trucks, and a special Art in the Park activation featuring local artisans, the Taste is truly a celebration of everything great about Syracuse.
Carrie shares the behind-the-scenes magic of putting the festival together, how the Taste has literally launched restaurants and bands into the spotlight, and this year’s charitable partners — Honor Flight Syracuse and Feed Our Vets — in honor of the 250th anniversary of America.
