Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon discussed the new federal "Trump Accounts" program, which will deposit $1,000 into a savings account for children 18 and under. He shared that Micron has committed to adding another $250 per child for families in Central New York, as well as in Idaho and Virginia where the company also operates, bringing the total to $1,250 per child that can compound over time. McMahon noted that having an anchor employer like Micron gives the region an advantage most communities don’t have.
