Speach Family Candy Shoppe began in 1920 when Michael Speach’s great-grandfather, an Italian immigrant, took the candy-making skills he learned while producing cough drops and used them to build a business of his own.
Four generations later, Michael and his family are still carrying on that tradition right here in Syracuse.
From the outside, you might not realize just how much is waiting inside this neighborhood candy shop. But step through the doors and you’ll find handmade chocolates, nostalgic candy and a family business that has been part of Central New York for more than a century.
