The Phoenix Program

Dignity matters just as much as the meal. Jack Pflanz explains the heart of Erin’s Angels’ Phoenix Program, their core mission in action. Every other Tuesday, volunteers gather at Michael Maroon Elementary School to pack food bags for families facing food insecurity.

But here’s what makes it special: the bags are discreetly placed in students’ backpacks while they’re at gym, lunch, or recess. No lines. No labels. No singling out.

Why? Because no child should face bullying or teasing on top of hunger. The Phoenix Program ensures kids get the food they need while protecting their dignity and sense of belonging.

It’s not just about feeding children—it’s about letting them be children. Included. Protected. Cared for.
