Goo Goo Dolls Benefit concert to support FeedMore WNY || Nov 20th || Town Ballroom
We were back in beautiful downtown Buffalo, NY where the art and music scene was buzzing. Multiple shows happening downtown all one this night but the most important one was the Goo Goo Dolls benefit show for FeedMore WNY . With local food insecurity at a high, the local grown band sold out two shows that would impact their community with food in their bellies.
They did not disappoint with Thursday’s show was one for the books. Even before the music started, you could feel the energy buzzing through the entire building. With the Bills game playing on the TVs in the lobby and fans crowding around the bar, and the main room steadily filling for the show, the atmosphere was absolutely electric. Town Ballroom is a staple of the community, with their many acts posters on the wall as you come in.
Before the show started, we were informed that the shows had raised 150k for the local organization. What a way to kick off the show.
To a completely sold-out Town Ballroom, hometown heroes the Goo Goo Dolls took the stage a little after 8:30 p.m. They kicked things off with “Long Way Down” — a song I’d been hoping to hear — and rolled right into their hit “Slide.” From the jump, it was clear the Goo Goo Dolls were here to give us the bangers. Many fans, spanning from yougn to old, sang along in the packed room; it’s almost as if they forgot the Bills were playing!
For about an hour and a half, they delivered a career-spanning set packed with fan favorites, deep cuts, and everything in between. They closed the night with their mega-hit “Iris,” from the City of Angels soundtrack, and the crowd absolutely lost it.
Even though the Bills game didn’t go the way anyone wanted, the city still walked away with something special: an incredible show from a band that sold out KeyBank Arena just this past summer, now playing an intimate, packed venue. It was a night Buffalo won’t forget anytime soon.
